भारत की दो महिला वैज्ञानिक रितू करिधल और एम. वनीता,
इनका महत्मपूर्ण योगदान रहा चंद्रयान-2
चंद्रयान-2 की मिशन निदेशिका रितू करिधल , प्रोजेक्टर डायरेक्टर एम वनीता ये कोई पहला मौका नहीं है, जब इसरो में महिला वैज्ञानिकों को इतनी बड़ी जिम्मेदारी सौंपी , इससे पहले मंगल मिशन में भी आठ महिला वैज्ञानिकों को प्रमुख भूमिका में रखा गया था। जानतें चंद्रयान 2 में प्रमुख भूमिका निभाने वाली महिला वैज्ञानिकों के बारे में। इस पूरे अभियान में 30 फीसद महिला वैज्ञानिक शामिल हैं।
रॉकेट वुमन ऑफ इंडिया
इसरो की महिला वैज्ञानिक रितू करिधल चंद्रयान-2 की मिशन डायरेक्टर उन्हें रॉकेट वुमन ऑफ इंडिया भी कहा जाता है। इससे पहले वह मार्स ऑर्बिटर मिशन में डिप्टी ऑपरेशंस डायरेक्टर रह चुकी हैं। रितू करिधल ने एरोस्पेस में इंजीनियरिंग की पढाई की है। साथ ही वह लखनऊ विश्वविद्यालय से ग्रेजुएट हैं। पूर्व राष्ट्रपति एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम ने वर्ष 2007 में उन्हें इसरो यंग साइंटिस्ट अवॉर्ड से सम्मानित किया था। पूर्व में दिए अपने साक्षात्कारों में रितू करिधल ने बताया था कि भौतिक विज्ञान और गणित में उनकी खास रुचि रही है। वो बचपन में नासा और इसरो के बारे में अखबार में छपी खबरों या अन्य जानकारियों की कटिंग काटकर अपने पास रखती थीं। पोस्ट ग्रेजुएशन के बाद उन्होंने इसरो में नौकरी के लिए आवेदन किया और स्पेस साइटिस्ट बन गईं। करीब 21 वर्ष से इसरो में बतौर वैज्ञानिक काम कर रहीं रितू करिधल पहले भी मार्स ऑर्बिटर मिशन समेत कई महत्वपूर्ण प्रोजेक्ट पर काम कर चुकी हैं।
रितू करिधल अपने बारे में कहती हैं कि वह पृथ्वी पर रहने वाली एक भारतीय महिला हैं जिसे एक बेहतर अवसर मिला है। उन्हे लगता है कि जो आत्मविश्वास उन्हें उनके माता-पिता ने दो दशक पहले दिया था वह आज लोग अपनी बच्चियों में दिखा रहे हैं लेकिन हमें देश के गांवों कस्बों में ये भावना स्थापित करनी होगी कि लड़कियां चाहे बड़े शहर की हों या कस्बों की अगर मां-बाप का सहयोग हो तो वे बहुत बड़ी-बड़ी कामयाबियां हासिल कर सकती हैं। अपने छात्र जीवन में भी वह नासा और इसरो प्रोजेक्ट्स के बारे में अपने पास अख़बारों की कटिंग रखा करती थीं।
एस्ट्रोनॉमिकल सोसाइटी ऑफ़ इंडिया की ओर से बेस्ट वुमन साइंटिस्ट अवॉर्ड‘ से सम्मानित हो चुकीं डिज़ाइन इंजीनियर एम. वनिता चंद्रयान-2 की प्रोजेक्ट डायरेक्टर वर्षों से सेटेलाइट पर काम करने का उनके पास लंबा अनुभव रहा इतने बड़े स्तर पर काम करनेवाली वह पहली महिला वैज्ञानिक हैं। उनके साथ काम करने वाली महिला वैज्ञानिकों में अनुराधा टीके संचार उपग्रहों और नाविक इंस्टॉलेशन की विशेषज्ञ हैं। इसके पहले ललितांबिका इसरो के मानव मिशन गगनयान की डायरेक्टर रह चुकी हैं। प्रोजेक्ट डायरेक्टर पर किसी अभियान की पूरी ज़िम्मेदारी होती है।
